The Shrine of Saint Anne School challenges and supports students to help them develop their knowledge, skills, and work habits in order for them to realize their full potential as Catholic citizens of this world as disciples of Christ.
The challenging curriculum at the Shrine of Saint Anne School provides the knowledge, skills, and work ethic necessary for students to realize their full potential. The academic foundation and love for learning we instill in our students prepares them for success in high school, college and in their future careers.
Full immersion into the Catholic faith at the Shrine of Saint Anne School helps set us apart from other private and public schools. Learning about the Catholic faith and living the Gospel message of Jesus are instilled throughout all of the curriculum at each grade level. Students attend weekly mass, pray the Rosary as a whole school once a month as well as in their classrooms on a regular basis, grades 4-8 attend monthly Adoration, grades 3-8 attend Reconciliation during Advent and Lent, students pray the Stations of the Cross throughout the year and especially during Lent, and the 8th grade presents the Stations of the Cross for the whole school community during Holy Week.
Students at the Shrine of St. Anne School are encouraged to participate in a variety of challenging, yet fun extra-curricular activities that promote teamwork, creativity, faith formation, and executive function skills. Our academic clubs and activities enrich our students’ years at our school in a variety of ways.
The Shrine of St. Anne School provides athletic teams of cross country, volleyball, basketball, flag football and baseball for students in grades 5-8. Students in grades 3 and 4 participate in flag football, basketball, volleyball, and baseball. The Catholic Schools Athletic League (CSAL) is a developmentally and age-appropriate league that allows for students at all of the Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Denver to develop the skills and knowledge in these sports, as well as to learn how to be a member of a team, work positively with others and strengthen interpersonal/social skills, problem solve, and learn/demonstrate positive sportsmanship, including how to win and lose appropriately.
Hot lunch is offered 5 days a week through WHOLESOME Food Services lunch program. Menu choices are available daily, including a gluten-free option. Lunch vendors for this program include popular chain restaurants that students definitely enjoy.
Shrine of St. Anne School provides a learning environment in which a high priority is placed on respect, self-discipline, good behavior, and safety. Our school takes pride in the fact that we are truly a community where each member is valued, cared for, and respected. Students wear a school uniform the majority of the days they attend school, but also have out of uniform days. School uniforms can be purchased through a variety of vendors and the Shrine of St. Anne School offers a uniform exchange at least once a year.
The Shrine of St. Anne School Kindergarten program is designed to instill a love for learning in all students while building a strong foundation for continued school success. Our goal is to provide students with a year of challenging and fun-filled learning experiences that will enhance the total development of the child spiritually, socially, intellectually, and physically.
The Shrine of St. Anne School offers Aftercare Monday-Friday throughout the school year. The hours are from 3:00-5:30pm. We do not offer Aftercare on no school days or half days.
Numerous committees under the umbrella of the School Advisory Committee (SAC), serve notable and enriching functions, including the Parent Teacher Organization, Booster Club, IT Committee, and the Enrollment Team.
The Shrine of St. Anne School continues to strengthen the teaching and use of technology to our students. Students in Kindergarten-8th grade attend technology class 2-3 times per week. Through a generous donation, we were able to add 2 Chromebook carts with 20 Chromebooks in each one in order to increase the integration of technology into our classrooms. Plans are in place to continue to add more Chromebooks to increase student opportunities to access technology for research, learning, and creativity.
The Shrine of St. Anne School is a secured school building that models the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) for emergency situations and requires audio and visual authorization to gain entrance to the school. Our campus is enclosed with secured fencing to increase safety throughout the school day for students, staff, and visitors. The Shrine of St. Anne School administration maintains a strong working relationship with the Arvada Police Department to aide in safety.
*Added security at the main school entrance- the second set of doors in the main entrance to the school has been locked, security film has been added to the glass in those doors, and a camera has been installed to add an extra layer of locked security at the main entrance of the school.
*LifeSpot App- all teachers and staff will have access to this app to be used in the case of an active threat on campus or in the building. It is a system that staff activates to immediately alert law enforcement, as well as all other staff on campus of a possible threat in order to improve response time, notification and communication, re-unification. etc.
*Security Film- security film was added to the windows of the 3 external entrances, as well as the kindergarten classroom as an added safety measure.
